IFRA / RIFM Meeting Fragrance and Flavor Singapore Association invited representatives from IFRA (International Fragrance Association) and its scientific affiliate RIFM (Research Institute for Fragrance Materials) for a joint meeting in Singapore on September 11, 2007. Invited CTFAS members attending this meeting learned about the IFRA Scientific Program to test fragrance materials, based on their Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA). Out of this Scientific Program, IFRA has developed a Code of Practice and Standards, for self-regulation of the fragrance industries. CTFAS is supportive of this fragrance industry’s initiative of self regulation: not to use banned materials, devise a table of different product categories, and recommend the use level of restricted materials, in each product category. As a reminder the ASEAN PIF Guidelines requires all your fragrances to have a certificate from the manufacturer that they comply with the latest IFRA Recommendations.
