Dear Members and Friends,

I wish you and your loved ones a very Happy and Healthy New Year
as well as a Prosperous Chinese New Year.

2008 marks a very important turn for the Cosmetic, Toiletries and Fragrance industry as we are implementing the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive (ACD). During the last few years, together with HSA, CTFAS has been organizing and conducting many workshops on the ACD and its requirements in term of product notification, GMP (including Good Distribution Practice or GDP), product safety, product efficacy, etc. More workshops might be organized this year if you think it is necessary to help you.

I would like to remind all of us that what makes us unique are our values. CTFAS stands for good ethics in business, good ethics in product compliance with the Regulations, good ethics in product safety and consumer relations. As members you sign up for adhering with these values; as members we live these values every day.

Our Technical Committee is setting up a series of interesting Tea Talks to help you know about some of the very exciting developments as well as connect with other members.
We are also preparing, in association with the SCSS, an International Workshop “Formulate Asia 2008”, which will mix conferences and lab work in a unique set up. This will be held on October 30-31.

Our Social Committee is preparing an exciting Dinner and Dance which I am sure will surpass what we had see in the previous years. Keep your date this is going to be on March 14th.

Our Student Committee is organizing interesting talks for the Singapore Polytechnic students and is establishing a link with the NUS students. They are our workforce of tomorrow.

Our Web site should be your point of contact with the Association to know the latest developments in the regulations, the latest news about our tea talks, workshops, etc.

Should you have any special question, any special requirements, please do not hesitate to send it to any committee member; we are here to help you.

Best regards,

Alain KHAIAT, Ph.D.
President
